3.1; Minimum Member Standards

Purpose
To establish the minimum requirements for membership on the Kitsap County Technical Rescue Team (KCTRT).

Scope and Applicability
This policy is intended to apply to all personnel assigned to the KCTRT.
Minimum Initial Requirements
Membership on the KCTRT is open to members of participating Kitsap county fire districts, fire authorities, and fire departments. Prior to appointment to the KCTRT, sponsoring agencies shall ensure that assigned personnel meet the following minimum requirements:

Completion of IS 100b: Introduction to ICS

Completion of IS 200b: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

Completion of IS 700a: NIMS Introduction
-
Completion of hazardous materials operations (40 hr.) or equivalent
-
Completion of TEEX WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders online course
-
Completion of TEEX Swiftwater Rescue Awareness online course
-
Completion of sponsoring agency training in Rope Rescue Awareness
-
Completion of sponsoring agency training in Confined Space Awareness
-
Completion of sponsoring agency training in Trench Rescue Awareness
-
Completion of sponsoring agency training in Structural Collapse Awareness
-
Completion of sponsoring agency training in infectious disease and bloodborne pathogens
-
Current certification as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic
